Before you build another course, answer these five questions.
- Is this a problem training can actually fix?
- What should people be able to do differently?
- What is preventing them from doing it now?
- What is the smallest intervention that could solve the problem?
- How will we know performance improved?
AI can help almost anyone build learning content faster.
That is useful.
But speed does not tell you whether a course should be built in the first place.
Training is only one possible intervention. Sometimes the problem is knowledge or skill. Sometimes it is the process, the tools, the expectations, the incentives, or the manager.
The value of a strong L&D professional is not simply knowing how to build a course.
It is knowing what problem needs to be solved, what intervention fits that problem, and whether it changed performance.
Before you ask AI to build the course, make sure a course is the right answer.
